Olvera Street sketches!

I discovered Olvera street market today while I was walking around LA and it was such a pretty little street full of rich culture and colors ! I knew instantly that I needed to do some quick sketches of it!!

I only stayed for a little while since the sun was already going down but hopefully I'll get to revisit the market and come up with more sketches!

I also created a blog specifically for my portfolio. You'll see the link to the blog on the right side of this page below my contact box.

Best,
Yon.

Job Fair and HELLO!

So portfolio day went well and I ended up getting callbacks! It was an exciting experience putting together a portfolio and I definitely had a great time learning how to do that!

Anyway, here's an illustration of a book cover that I did. I've always wanted to have my own book published and I thought it would be great to try this out.

It's gonna be a book on Satyrs on how they live their daily life in their own little community and there's gonna be a lot of fun stories and illustrations in it! Hopefully I'll get to have this published one day :)

Best,
Yon.

Story & Character Design Portfolio (2012)

So here's the portfolio I've put together for portfolio day at CalArts! I just came back from setting up my space together with my first year friends and it was really exciting to see everyone's amazing work! Everybody's so talented!! We will be finding out at 1pm today on whether or not we get a call back but for now, it's time for me to take a nap after the hard work! Anyway, here's my portfolio, I hope you'll like it!!

Mermaid Series 4 - Best Friends Forever

4th in the series!

This was a lot of fun to work on. I had most fun working on its tail! It was a fun concept to work with and I had some really good advices from my friends on making the eyes glow to increase the eeriness!

Mermaid Series 3 - Symphony Falls

The third in the series!

This was actually an assignment for my perspective class taught by Dan Hansen. The goal was to come up with an illustration using two-point perspective. I've been really busy working on my film lately so I thought this would be a good opportunity to keep the series going despite the busy hours spent working on my film! NO EXCUSE!
