More Environments!

Here are some more environment sketches I developed from my rough thumbnails! Now I really want a cintiq! I work so much slower without one! I'm starting to get a little bit more comfortable with the line quality in the computer though. I still find it a challenge to maintain the liveliness of my rough thumbs in the digital ones but I guess that will need some time.

The last one here's my favorite since it's got a little story in it :)

And here again are my roughs!

Environment Sketches!

I really enjoy sketching environments! They're one of my favorite subjects to draw! This summer I've been practicing a lot in avoiding compositions with flat angles and I'm having a lot of fun in the process! I did some environment sketches a couple of weeks ago that I really like and decided to translate them into digital sketches. Since I wanna be a story artist, I thought it would be great to put in some time working digitally. Digital storyboarding can be time savy when done right but it's a huge challenge for me since I mostly work traditionally, which I enjoy a lot, but in this digital age where the advent of digital medium has brought forth astounding possibilities to artists, I can't imagine it being detrimental to my learned craft but a big help!!

And here are the original sketches I did on paper which I kinda like more.

A Perfect Date

While waiting in line for The Dark Knight Rises the other night, I saw a man with his pet chihuahua chewing on "their" popcorn. He later took the seat in front of me and snuggled together with his date, enjoying the movie and the popcorn. They were in their own world. It seemed like something I would love to do in the future. Me and my pet dog or pet meerkat, sharing a popcorn, enjoying a movie together. A perfect date.

Dark Knight Rises & The Clawwwwwwww.

I caught the midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" today with my friend Brian. Such a great movie, go watch it! Christopher Nolan is now officially one of my favorite director. Anyway, after the movie ended we had to wait for a good 30 minutes before the cab came so we hung around the theater and I tried my luck with a dollar at a claw crane and........ TA-DAH !!!! I got lucky!! Maybe it's not that big of a deal, but it was my first time getting lucky at a claw crane and I treasure my first encounter of any kind, so it IS a big deal!

Here's a picture of the prize. This is a jewel considering how much I paid for it.
